“The Bachelorette” star Trista Sutter condemned Bentley Williams’ actions during a guest spot on Tuesday’s episode of “The Bachelorette Beatdown,” calling the way he used his daughter to get out of the show cowardly – and who can blame her?

“Bentley is clearly biologically a father, but in using his daughter – I can’t imagine she would ever look up to him as an adult knowing what he did,” she told viewers and the night’s “Bachelorette Beatdown” panel.

But while Trista was set in her belief that Bentley just isn’t a good guy, the panel – David Good, Natalie Getz, Ashley Spivey, Wes Hayden, Jesse Kovacs, Marissa May and Eliza Orlins, and host Jesse Csincsak – was split down the middle. The men agreed Bentley was disrespectful to Ashley but felt Ashley was as much to blame for what happened because she didn’t listen to the warnings of producers and show host Chris Harrison; the men also felt Bentley was probably cut and pasted together by editing for good ratings.

The women, on the other hand, overwhelmingly agreed that Bentley is just an all-around jerk! They weren’t willing to give Bentley any props for leaving early nor were the willing to believe that editing or producers had anything to do with how bad Bentley looked on the episodes.

In case you’ve been living under a rock: Bentley Williams is the bachelor Ashley Hebert was warned about before filming began. She was told he was solely on the show to promote his business. Although viewers never heard about said business, viewers got an earful when it came to Bentley’s rude and disrespectful comments about the bachelorette, who he thought was an “ugly duckling” and who he wished was Emily Maynard. Bentley told viewers he had no interest in Ashley, unless they were just hooking up, and on Tuesday, he left the show, ultimately breaking Ashley’s heart, with the excuse that he missed his daughter – a reason he admitted was pretty much false. Jesse Csincsak says ‘Bachelor’s’ Bentley Williams broke all unspoken rules of parenting on Monday’s episode During her brief guest appearance, Trista also commented about Ashley’s roast, which was the group date featured on episode three. During the roast, William, who seemed to be a favorite of Ashley’s after a fantastic one-on-one date, sent the bachelorette off the stage in tears after making jokes about the bachelors wishing the season’s star had been Emily Maynard or Chantal O’Brien.

Trista said she was surprised Ashley, who is admittedly sensitive, would agree to that type of a date; however, she said she isn’t sure how the dates are chosen now so didn’t know if Ashley had a choice.
