Emily Maynard kicked off the eighth season of The Bachelorette on Monday night with those 25 men. Fans of the hit ABC reality show no doubt tuned in to catch a glimpse of the handsome–and all hopefully stand-up–hunks competing for Maynard’s attention and to pick their favorites. Of course, her quest for love is all the more interesting, given it’s not her first rodeo. She’s a Bachelor alum–oh, and she has an adorable daughter, Ricki, 6, at home. The plot thickens!

That said, the search-for-love show always seems to lead to heated discussions and a barrage of commentary among viewers and gossip blogs, but former Bachelorette contestant Jesse Csincsak is breaking it down and providing his own opinion. After all, he’s been there, done that. And some of the things he has to say are, well, quite revealing.

Csincsak served up his thoughts on the first episode, saying that he liked the “skater kid” [Jef], who “made a cool entrance without really trying; he just rode his skateboard in…”

By now, all should probably know that this ABC series is far from unscripted and is pretty much driven by strategy. If not, this revelation from Csincsak might be a bit of a spoiler! He admitted, “Night one is all about Emily picking her final four. The rest of the guys are just produced to help make the show interesting while Emily has a chance to get to know her final four.”

But perhaps Csincsak’s biggest and most controversial statement addressed Emily Maynard’s motivation to be on The Bachelorette. “I don’t think anyone wants to be alone, so I do think Emily wants to find love. However I do remember her going on camera saying how much she hated cameras and the limelight and the media, so I think the main reason she agreed… was for the big fat check they gave her,” he told Celebuzz.

Indeed, money talks and can be a huge motivator. It was initially a bit surprising to see that the seemingly shy and down-to-earth Emily Maynard, who cemented her status as a Bachelor sweetheart during her first go-round, agreed to be the star of the latest season. After all, she does have a daughter at home and she certainly knows the dismal odds of really finding true love and happily ever after on the drama-packed series. But maybe she’ll defy the odds–and take home that generous paycheck, too.
